About Eran

Eran has over 20 years experience in leadership, execution, research, innovation, and team building. He co-founded Hygieia in 2008 and demonstrated his ability to bring products from ideation to commercialization. Prior to Hygieia, Eran managed R&D at OTM Technologies, a startup company focusing on unique optical sensor applications. Prior to OTM, Eran was with Elbit Systems (NASDAQ:ESLT). He also spent several years as a lecturer. Eran started his career in the military as a field officer where he was a Company commander in the Armor Corps. Eran holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Mary Ann Tournoux is responsible for leading Hygieia’s commercial efforts by developing a sustainable, cohesive business development and marketing strategy. This enables Hygieia to maximize the revenue potential of its service and products. With more than 30 years in business development management and senior leadership, Mary Ann has expertise in strategy, product development, market launch and client success. Prior to Hygieia, Mary Ann was the SVP of Business Development & Chief Marketing Officer for HAP (Health Alliance Plan), the subsidiary health plan of Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan.

Mark Willis is an experienced lead architect who actively partners with executive leadership to understand their vision and the direction for the business. During the last 30 years, Mark co-founded three technology companies, the most recent in healthcare. As Chief Architect, he guided one of these companies to become a fully-operational, worldwide presence with state-of-the-art infrastructure and custom line-of-business applications connecting offices on five continents. He successfully creates a blueprint for utilizing technology to fully realize business objectives, enabling his teams to tailor solutions that support evolution of the business strategy. Mark’s hands-on leadership positions his team to facilitate Hygieia’s vision for worldwide commercialization of its products and services.

She has expertise in developing and leading complex programs, creating effective policies and procedures to help meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Jean is adept at building valuable relationships within communities to further program success and has been recognized for securing sought after credentialing by meeting strict criteria under tight deadlines.

Sheraz holds an MBA in finance from the Hailey College of Banking & Finance. His nearly 25 years of leadership and management in the field encompasses a diverse variety of industries including education, manufacturing, trading, construction, and service. Sheraz has also voluntarily served as a treasurer in various missions and nonprofit organizations, along with teaching and counselling various students of B.com, ACCA & CA. At Hygieia, he is responsible for dutifully allocating the funds derived from our revenue and capital investments to maximize sustainable growth.

Donna McCollum

About Donna

Donna is Vice President of Research and Development for Hygieia, Inc., responsible for leading the product development efforts, product support, and quality system and regulatory compliance.

She has spent 30 years in medical device product development and quality systems. Donna has been with Hygieia since 2010, supporting the original d-Nav product development and certification efforts, including obtaining a CE Mark on the d-Nav Insulin Guidance System and later receiving FDA clearance on the d-Nav System app.

Prior to Hygieia, Donna served in various quality system and product development roles at Terumo Cardiovascular including Product Development Technical Manager and project lead for System 1, the next generation heart lung machine.

Donna has a BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and holds MS and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.

John Brooks

About John

John L. Brooks III is the Managing Director of Healthcare Capital LLC, a consulting firm that is enabling innovative solutions in obesity, pre-diabetes, and diabetes pandemics. John is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Joslin Diabetes Center, a Boston based diabetes research, clinical care, and education organization. A well-known life sciences executive, Mr. Brooks has co-founded seven life sciences companies, including Insulet (PODD), a disruptive insulin delivery company. He was a co-founder of Prism Venture Partners, a $1.25B venture capital firm. Prior to that, John was the Emerging Business Group General Manager at Pfizer/Valleylab, where he was responsible for Pfizer’s minimally invasive surgery and new medical technologies businesses. As President/GM at Pfizer/Strato, he led the growth of a rapidly evolving vascular access medical device business. A native of Massachusetts, he holds an M.S. in Business Administration and a B.B.A. cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and he is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Brooks is on the board of a number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Mark is a recognized innovator in the digital healthcare industry where he has held several leadership roles in top virtual-care companies. He was president, COO and CFO of Talkspace; COO and CFO of Teladoc; and CFO of ArisGlobal. While at Teladoc Health, the nation’s leading provider of telehealth services, Mark grew the company from 45 to 2,500 employees, and from $10M in sales to $500 million. He has previously held senior executive positions at several other technology companies, including RCS/Media Monitors and BT Radianz.

Charles co-founded and is Chief Executive Manager of Michigan Life Ventures (MLV) and Michigan Life Therapeutics (MLT). Previously, he was President/CEO at ProNAi Therapeutics, a cancer therapeutic company. Charles also co-founded and was VP of Pharmacology at Esperion Therapeutics (acquired by Pfizer). Prior to Esperion, Charles participated in the discovery and development of Gemfibrozil (Lopid®), Atorvastatin (Lipitor®), Avasimibe and Gemcabene at Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis. Currently, he licensed Gemcabene from Pfizer and is in clinical development at Gemphire Therapeutics Inc. Through MLV he invests in innovative early stage/start-up companies. Charles received his Biochemistry Ph.D. (1981) from George Washington University.

Dr. Bergenstal is an endocrinologist and Executive Director of the International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet. He is Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota and in 2010 was the American Diabetes Association’s, President, Medicine & Science. In 2007, he was ADA’s Outstanding Physician Clinician. He currently serves as IDC’s principal investigator for three NIH trials: the DCCT/EDIC (T1D) and the ACCORD follow-up and GRADE studies (T2D). He works to implement patient-centered team care utilizing new technology for glucose analysis and management.

George Grunberger, MD

Dr. Grunberger is Chairman of the Grunberger Diabetes Institute (GDI) in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Dr. Grunberger serves as a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, and Professor of Internal Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Auburn Hills, Michigan. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Endocrinology, Dr. Grunberger has authored more than 150 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and served as an investigator of more than 100 clinical research studies and trials. He is a Past President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and served on the AACE National Board of Directors from 2006 to 2012. In addition, he is the Past President of the Michigan Chapter of the AACE.

Mark Fendrick, MD

About Dr. Fendrick

Dr. Fendrick is a Professor of Internal Medicine in the School of Medicine and Professor of Health Management and Policy in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. He currently directs the V-BID Center at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on how clinician payment and consumer engagement initiatives impact access to care, quality of care, and health care costs. Dr. Fendrick has authored over 250 articles and book chapters and has received numerous awards. Dr. Fendrick is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine (formerly IOM) and serves on the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee. He is the co-editor in chief of the American Journal of Managed Care and is an editorial board member for 3 additional peer-reviewed publications. He is also a member of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation at the University of Michigan.

Michael J. Miller, MD

About Dr. Miller

Dr. Miller is a former Medical Director of the MidMichigan Medical Center, Diabetes Center in Midland where he practiced for 35 years. Board Certified in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Internal Medicine, his clinical practice focused on advanced diabetes management. Recognized as one of the first diabetes practitioners granted Certified Diabetes Technology Clinician (CDTC) status, Dr. Miller is also a lifetime member of the ADA and AACE, and a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE). Dr. Miller co-founded LifeScan Inc. and served on its Board prior to Johnson & Johnson’s 1986 acquisition. He was recently named Clinical Advisor to Thermalin Diabetes LLC (Cleveland, OH).

Karen Drexler

About Karen

Karen is a serial entrepreneur with expertise in the fields of digital health, medical devices and diagnostics. Currently, she serves on the boards of ResMed; VIDA Diagnostics; Outset Medical; Bone Health Technologies; Tivic Health; and EBR Systems. She is also an active mentor and advisor with Astia, and a lead mentor with StartX, the Stanford University incubator. Previously, Karen was the CEO of Sandstone Diagnostics, served as the board chair of Hygieia, and spent 11 years on the board of the Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education at Princeton University. Earlier in her career, Karen was founder and CEO of Amira Medical (acquired by Roche in 2001), held management roles at LifeScan and played a key role in its sale to J&J.
